A TREATY SIGNED BETWEEN THE GRAND LIBERAL LODGE OF ITALY AND THE OPERATIVE HERMETIC RITE

//A TREATY SIGNED BETWEEN THE GRAND LIBERAL LODGE OF ITALY AND THE OPERATIVE HERMETIC RITE

A treaty of friendship, collaboration and mutual recognition was signed in Milan on 21 January 2023 between the Liberal Grand Lodge and the Operative Hermetic Rite.

The Operative Hermetic Rite (R.E.O.) is a Masonic community for men and women that was founded in year 2018 after the experience of the “Hermes” Lodge in Milan, considered the Mother Lodge. The R.E.O. proposes a path that develops in ten Degrees, and is divided into Lodges (1st and 2nd degree) and Colleges (from 3rd to 10th degree). The rituality is mainly inspired by the tradition of the Rite of Memphis-Misraim, with differences due to the insertion of innovative elements to favour spiritual growth and inner improvement by means of a specific operative ritual.

Although there are ritual differences between the R.E.O. and the GLLI, the intentions are common: to give new dignity to the Masonic path, rediscovering the profound values of the initiatory Tradition.

The signed treaty of friendship provides for the possibility of collaborations in the Masonic and cultural spheres, the possible sharing of Masonic Temples, and favours the exchange of visits and mutual participation to Lodge meetings, obviously in compliance with the recognized Degrees.

We take this opportunity to recall that the Liberal Grand Lodge has so far signed, in addition to the one mentioned above, treaties of friendship, collaboration and mutual recognition with the following foreign Masonic Orders:

  • The Feminine Grand Lodge of Romania
  • The Symbolic Grand Lodge of Croatia
  • The United Lodges of the Netherland
  • The Grand Lodge of North Colombia
  • The United Grand Lodge of Poland and the Baltic States

The treaty with the R.E.O. it is the first treaty that the GLLI signs with an Italian Masonic community, and we hope that others will follow to contribute to the sharing of ideas and values among the many components of the great Italian Masonic Family.
